Technique: Gouache on paper, 29 x 19 cm (11.4 x 7.5 inches) margins slightly dusty with small tears and loss of paper, slightly age-toned, otherwise in a good condition).
A beautifully drawn Royal Bohemian coat of arms, with a lion rampant with crossed tail, improvised St. Wenceslaus crown above and surrounded by a fashionable rocaille ornaments, was made in 1680, in the year the title belonged to the Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I (1640-1705). The drawing was originally probably a part of a document with a royal privilege to a person, family or estate.
