An uncommon translation of Croatian short stories about the sea life to Esperanto was illustrated by the pioneer of Croatian comics Andrija Maurović. Signed by the author and translator.

A beautifully illustrated book for children in youth was published in Zagreb, Croatia, in Esperanto in 1960, in order to join people from different nationalities under the same, easy to learn language.

The book is a translation of a popular text Tajne morskih bića (Secrets of Sea Creatures), first published in 1952. The author was a famous journalist and editor Petar Giunio (1894 — 1968), born in Korčula, who became popular for his texts, connected to the sea and maritime animals. 

The colour and monochrome illustrations were made by Andrija Maurović (1901 – 1981), who was known as a pioneer of the Croatian comics, with his career starching from 1930s on. 

The copy has been signed by the author Petar Giunio and a Croatian Esperanto translator Marinko Gjivoje (Ĝivoje) (1919 - 1982).
