An art book in Armenian language is divided into two parts. The first one, with a title La danse des fils du soleil (The Dance of the Sons of the Sun) is an epic poem, referring to the suffering past of the Armenian nation. The second part La danse des Sassouniotes (The Dance of the Sasonians) a combination of black and white illustrations and text, creating a dramatic apocalyptic atmosphere.
Alexandre Varbedian is a French-Armenian Armenologist, ethnologist, essentialist and ontologist. Born in Marseille in 1943, he moved back to Armenia in 1948, where he graduated from Architectural Department of the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute in 1968. He moved back to Marseille in 1975. Since 2002 Varbedian not allowed to enter Armenia.
The book comes from a library of an Armenian author and researcher Levon Mikirtitchian (Lewon Mkrtchʻean), active in Munich in the second half of the 20th century.
