A classic book on geography, also known as géographie de Crozat and used in French education for almost a century, was written for a female student Marie Anne Crozat, by Abbot Laurent François.




Author: Laurent FRANÇOIS (1698-1782), text; Gilles Robert de VAUGONDY (1688–1766), maps.

A detailed school book on geography includes 17 folding maps, made by Robert de Vaugoundy: Map of the World, Europe, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Germany, Great Britain, Scandinavia, Poland, Russia in Europe, Turkey, Asia, Africa, North America, South America,  

The geography book was first published in 1705 for Marie Anne Crozat (1695-1729), daughter of Antoine Crozat Marquis de Chatel, a French banker (1655 - 1738).
